Job Description: Warehouse Operative

Location: Subway Street, Hull, HU3 4EL

Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday
Overtime may be required to meet demands, alternative Saturday's may be required during busy periods. Additional hours worked over contractual hours will be paid.

Job Overview

As a General Warehouse Operative, you will be a valued member of our team responsible for unloading deliveries, stock organisation and rotation along with loading ambient, frozen and chilled foods onto company vehicles ready for deliveries to customers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Working with the team in the following areas:

• A Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) license is desirable, but it is not essential to have had previous FLT experience or hold a FLT (Counterbalance) licence as training will be provided on the commencement of employment.
• Unloading deliveries, checking to purchase orders and storing goods in required locations within the chiller, freezer and ambient areas.
• Stock rotation and organisation. Including in the coldstore therefore candidates would need to take into consideration that sometimes working in cold temperatures is required.
• Involvement with stock storage methods, solutions and regulations.
• Regular physical stock counts.
• Helping to pick and load company vehicles to deliver goods to customers.
• Possible local deliveries/collections using company vehicles.
• Identify areas for cost reduction / efficiency savings.
• Housekeeping duties within the Warehouse/ Fridge/ Freezer locations.

• Well organised and a logical thinker.
• To be able to work at a fast and efficient pace.
• Ability to listen and respond to instructions.
• Feel comfortable working in a cold environment during parts of the day.
• To be able to pay close attention to detail at all times.
• Excellent team worker.
• Versatility to help other departments during busy periods when required.
• Ability to work unsupervised, with drive and determination to get things done, make things happen and continually looking for better ways of doing things.
• Experience of goods inwards procedures.
• Good communication skills to be able to work well as part of a close-knit team.
• Full Driving License (desirable)

Qualifications and Experience

• Warehouse experience: 1 year (Required)
• Food Service Industry Experience (Advantageous)

Specific KPI’s and Deliverables

• All Goods in related problems dealt with and reported in a timely manner.
• All Goods in stored in a timely manner in the correct locations.
• All stock rotated as necessary with minimal stock waste.
• Warehouse housekeeping kept to a high standard.
• Other KPI’s to be discussed during annual targets and performance reviews.

Salary £20,000 - £25,000 dependent on experience.
