Trainee Broker - Trade Credit

Xenia Broking Limited are seeking to hire an enthusiastic and ambitious Trainee Broker to work with our experienced, friendly and dynamic team based out of our office in Birmingham. This is a practical, office-based training providing support to the regional Account Managers. Full training will be given, and over a period of time the individual will become a main point of contact for clients in relation to basic policy administration, duties include providing support with credit limits, policy documentation, overdue accounts, claims, declarations of turnover, accounting queries etc.

Xenia Broking Limited will provide a comprehensive grounding for the successful Trainee Broker in the basics of credit insurance broking. Subject to satisfactory completion of the training programme (typically a 2-3 year process) the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients and / or develop into a new business / marketing role is then reviewed and discussed.

As part of the training programme the Trainee Broker will participate in internal and off-site training courses arranged by Xenia Broking team and Underwriters. There is also the opportunity to work towards a qualification with Chartered Institute of Credit Management.

The position requires accurate filing and recording of correspondence with clients and Underwriters. Maintaining up-to-date and accurate recording of contacts and policy records/documentation within the internal database.

Xenia was formed through the union of two long-standing specialist credit insurance brokers, Credit Risk Solutions (CRS) and Credit & Business Finance (CBF) acquired in 2017 and 2019 respectively. The combining of these independent and entrepreneurial businesses, including the Howden Trade Credit team acquired in 2020, positioned Xenia as one of the largest credit insurance brokers in the UK. In 2021 Xenia Broking Group expanded even further by completing four acquisitions - Credit Insurance Alliance (Brokers), Status Credit Insurance Brokers Ltd, Parker Norfolk & Partners Ltd and Peter Hill Credit & Financial Risks making Xenia the largest independent trade credit and surety insurance broker in the UK.

Your profile:

• Ideally educated to A Levels or QCF Level 3 and/or equivalent qualification, but as a minimum to GCSE
• Enthusiastic and hardworking individual with a focus of providing the best possible service
• Adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks within a high pressured environment, including working to tight deadlines
• Ability to build trust by operating with integrity and professionalism
• IT literate, must have good working knowledge of all Microsoft Office packages

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £22,000.00-£26,000.00 per year
