Job Summary:
We are seeking an organised and detail-oriented Part-time Bookkeeper to join our team at our business incubator and start-up studio. This role is based in our London office and requires you to work 2 days a week between 9 am - 6 pm. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, and assisting with budgeting and financial reporting for our organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a part-time, office-based role in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records for the business incubator and start-up studio.
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial reports, and budgeting.
- Support with the preparation of year-end financial statements and liaise with external accountants for annual audits.
- Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and assist with the submission of VAT returns.
- Maintain an organised filing system for all financial documents.
- Collaborate with team members and provide financial information as required.
- Assist with the implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Perform ad-hoc finance-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping certification.
- Proven experience in a bookkeeping role, preferably within a start-up or small business environment.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Knowledge of relevant tax regulations and experience with VAT returns is a plus.
- A genuine interest in the start-up ecosystem and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.
