Position Overview & Specifications

Overview
The Security Risk Specialist objective is to support the business to identify, measure and manage security risks and incidents as effectively as possible. Reporting to the Risk and Security Manager, you will be raising security awareness with operational teams thus minimising risk to colleagues, Wincanton assets and customer confidence.
Salary - £ Comp + Car
The position will be homebased with travel to our UK sites, travel frequency will vary based on commercial demand, however likely 2-3 days a week. Flexibility required.
How will you contribute?
  • Support a risk-based security review programme maintaining Authorised Economic Operator status compliance and accreditation.
  • Conduct investigations as required in line with company procedures. Establishing and highlighting any root cause security control failure, with mitigating actions to remediate against future incident.
  • Subject matter expert for queries relating to physical and electronic security matters; asset protection and associated risk mitigation strategies.
  • Coach and guide operational colleagues in matters of security risk and identify security training opportunities and deliver course content.
  • Stakeholder for the operational development and value adding growth of Wincanton partnerships with security service providers and contractors.
  • Ensure all risks and incidents are reported and formally recorded where required.
  • Champion security awareness and communication channels within the business.
  • Support relationships with appropriate authorities, police, and industry partners.
  • Develop relationships with internal departments such as Governance, Internal Audit, Legal, Property, Procurement and People Teams.
  • Attend Business Unit; HSEQ; Audit; Risk Committees meetings as required.
  • Deputise for Supply Chain Risk & Security Manager as appropriate
What will you bring?
  • Experience of operational security management and risk mitigation across a supply chain environment or similar industry.
  • Good communicator, both written and verbal at all levels of the business.
  • Ability to influence and partner stakeholders to agree and drive change.
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and has excellent time management skills.
  • Knowledge of security systems and emerging technology
  • Knowledge of industry security standards e.g., AEO, CTPAT, TAPA
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of UK laws including P.A.C.E. and Business Policies.
  • Full driving license, willing to travel throughout the UK with occasional overnight stop over as required.
  • Beneficial - relevant security related qualification and/or an experience in a similar role.
