Main Purpose of Job

Reporting to the Head of Process Engineering, the Senior Process Engineer is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of all aspects of the process engineering department

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide support and act as a lead on multiple projects in a high-performance process engineering team in producing designs, drawings and other deliverables, in line with contractual requirements.
• Development and management of resource planning for multiple projects. Interface with the Engineering Manager, Project Managers and other Section Heads for coordination and correct allocation of process engineering resources.
• Manage the production of economical and sound design solutions for Projects, Studies and Enquiries including but not limited to Feasibility studies, Conceptual Design, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Detailed Design and Build.
• Responsibility includes ensuring that the engineering designs meet the client URS or expectations, including constructability reviews and that the Process engineering element of the design remains within the agreed capital cost estimate.
• Responsibility extends to managing process engineering manhours against established norms and ensuring that the process engineering department delivers to the manhour estimate.
• Establish and enforce quality and standards and ensure that all aspects of the design and engineering works are carried out in a diligent and professional manner and utilising Best Available Technologies (BAT).
• Ensure process engineering department compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as professional and industry-specific standards and regulations.
• Lead, motivate, communicate with, develop, appraise and performance manage all process engineering staff to maximise efficiency and effectiveness so as to achieve best performance in meeting company requirements.
• In conjunction with the Engineering Manager, ensure that all staff possess the skills, knowledge and training required to fulfil their role. Undertake regular Training Needs Analysis (TNA) to identify any skills shortfall.
• Encourage and influence a culture of innovation within the engineering department such that opportunities for the use of new technologies and techniques are regularly considered as part of an established Continuous Improvement (CI) ethos.
• Comply with company Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance with the same throughput the engineering team.
• Carry out other duties as required to support Operations and company-wide needs.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £50,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
