The Reward and Benefits team manage the remuneration and benefits package for staff and officers across the organisation. Why we need your help:

The Reward and Benefits Team has responsibility for a cost of living portal, which provides signposting and guidance around money saving tips and offers. At a time when the cost of living has become a big problem, we need your help to ensure we are all aware of the best deals available. As the cost of living administrator, it will be your task to find these offers, document them and work with internal departments to get these offers displayed on our hub, while simultaneously making sure the information on the hub already is up to date. This work matters, and your support will directly help families get through this difficult time.

Essential information:

  • Where appropriate, volunteers should use public transport. We will cover travel expenses to a maximum daily limit of a 1 day network Zones 1-5 Unlimited regional bus*, tram and train travel within the specified West Midlands rail zones (https://ticketing.networkwestmidlands.com/Home/ShowTicket/38)
  • Mileage will be in reimbursed at 45p per mile using the Michelin guide https://www.viamichelin.co.uk/
  • Volunteers are eligible to claim £5.00 towards their lunch if they volunteer over 4 hours on given day.
  • This role description is intended as an indicator of general areas of activity and will be amended with any changing needs of West Midlands Police It is expected that the volunteer will be flexible, using this document as a framework

Key Responsibilities

  • Researching content for the cost of living portal, drawing on our internal resources, and also horizon scanning from external sources, to collate information for topical issues.

  • Working with our digital team around maintenance of the site content

  • Review suggestions that are submitted through the portal, and communicate with members of WMP

  • Support infrequent in person events, both with the planning, promoting and co-ordinating; and attendance at the event to support a cost of living stall.

Location:

Lloyd House, Birmingham

Hours

We are looking for volunteers to commit at least 16 hours per month ideally for a minimum of 9 months.

4 hours per week Monday to Friday- flexibility around days and times. There may be a requirement to vary these hours during busy periods.

Vetting:

Successful applicants will need to complete NPPV level 2 vetting.
