Position Overview & Specifications

Would you like to build your expertise in mental health in a supportive, multi-disciplinary team, who are passionate about making a difference to people's lives?

We are looking to recruit a number of Trainee High Intensity CBT Therapists to join With You’s NHS Talking Therapy services in Kent and Medway. This exciting opportunity includes an NHS funded Postgraduate Diploma course at Sussex University, which will give you the skills to assess and deliver NICE recommended CBT interventions in community settings, for people suffering with symptoms of anxiety and depression.

With You’s NHS Talking Therapies is part of We Are With You, which is a leading national charity providing evidence based support for mental health, substance use, and young person’s services across the UK. We care about staff wellbeing, recognition and career development. We will provide you with the experience you need to develop your clinical practice and equip you with the skills you need to help clients on their journey to recovery. The first step to achieve this is a thorough induction shadowing qualified CBT therapists and CBT therapy groups. Throughout your role you will provide therapy to clients with a range of common mental health problems.

We will support you to learn from your colleagues, direct supervisor and the wider organisation, by offering monthly training sessions, weekly 1-2-1 supervision, group supervision and reflective practice.

This is a permanent full time role for 37.5 hours per week, dependent on successfully obtaining the Post Graduate Diploma. We are committed to your continued development and retention within our organisation.

The position will be home based, but travel will be required to attend the Post Graduate Diploma training course at Sussex University on the Brighton Falmer Campus, provide in person client work within Kent, team training and meetings. As the course starts 25th September, successful applicants will need to be available to start employment by 18th September 2023.


REQUIRED SKILLS

Candidates should have a BABCP recognised core professional training and provide qualification and registration documents as proof at interview.

Applicants without a core profession (such as Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners or Counsellors without BACP accreditation) must be able to demonstrate they have met the KSA criteria by completion of a KSA portfolio prior to the course starting (see BABCP website for more information). We support the fair chance initiative for applicants without Talking Therapies experience.

Please note that applications from Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners must demonstrate at least two years post-graduate experience within the PWP role.
