You can either work full time, or part time as a job share. You will finish work early at 4.30pm and miss the rush hour traffic.

You will have a positive work-life balance with no work required at the weekends.

You will work with our lovely customer service team, supporting them to deliver exceptional service to our customers, who are mostly independent retail opticians.

You will receive regular on the job training, so that you are quickly brought up to speed with our working practices.

What will you receive by working at Waterside Labs?

Salary is £16,552.90 to £23,028 20 per annum, based on a full-time position and experience.

20 days holiday, plus bank holidays. There is no fighting for holiday at Christmas and New Year, as we shut during this period.

Full time hours are 8½ per day.

You don’t need to pay for parking.

You can join your colleagues for morning and afternoon tea/coffee breaks when we all stop work and have a chat.

We'll contribute to a pension scheme for you, subject to eligibility.

You will receive discounts on spectacles every year, plus we also extend this to spectacles for friends and family.

Your next step … Waterside Labs are an independent optical laboratory, based in Totton, Southampton.
We make, manufacture and supply spectacle lenses for independent opticians. We are not the biggest, but our technology, skilled technicians and experienced customer service advisors ensure we can give a level of service and a comprehensive range of lens products to meet the needs of even the most demanding of independent opticians. We are 100% independently owned and rely totally on the quality and service we deliver as the means to ensuring our success and survival. We celebrated our 50th anniversary in 2022.
