Position Overview & Specifications

Main Purpose of the Job

The purpose of this role is to be the company lead for all Health and Safety matters relating to both Occupational and Service Delivery instructions. A part of this role is to be able to grow a team in line with company growth plans. The role will be split and fee earning will be required as part of CDM instructions. The company is implementing new management systems and Health and Safety will be incorporated into this.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Management of company Health and Safety.
  • Development of Health and Safety systems for implementation into company management system.
  • Site Inspections and site audits.
  • Preparation and review of H&S Documents.
  • Accreditation Applications.
  • Preparation and review of RAMS and Health & Safety Policies.
  • Company lead as Principal Designer for a variety of schemes, this includes training and management of internal staff.
  • Direct lead of Health and Safety within Wainwrights.
  • You are responsible to make sure that your Team is on it!!!! This means being responsive, being sharp, hitting deadlines, keeping clients informed and driving best value!!!!
  • You have to look after existing client relationships.
  • You are responsible for bringing in new clients and sourcing new opportunities.
  • You are required to build a great team. This means assessing the skill base of the existing team members and for resourcing new staff in line with Company Core Values.
  • You are responsible for resourcing instructions.
  • Quality Control is a massive requirement to ensure that quality of documentation is high.
  • To ensure that correct processes are in place to protect the business and ensure compliance with ISO.
  • To make sure that team training requirements are identified and addressed.
  • Billing / Invoicing is important and needs to be done regularly.
  • Completing company tasks outside departmental duties.
  • Building a company brand in the Yorkshire market.
  • Being seen and known in the industry as a stand alone Health and Safety service.
  • To attend 50% of key company events and dinners.
  • Expected to be building own networks and relationships – required to be out meeting people at least once a week.


Essential Competency Profile

  • CMIOSH
  • NEBOSH
  • IMaPS
  • Extensive experience in Health and Safety in a construction consultancy environment, with a proven track record.
  • Have previously worked in a professional practice.
  • Experience of implementing systems and monitoring.
  • Have confidence and experience of implementing change.
  • Be willing to travel to sites nationally.


Hours of Work:


A minimum of 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday.

Salary Banding:

Up to £50,000 per annum, DOE

Plus annual car allowance of £4,000 per annum.

Annual Leave:

23 days, plus statutory holidays.

Office closure over the Christmas & New Year period.

Location:
Located at Calder Park, Wakefield, WF4 3BA, with travel nationally.
