Mobile Vending Operator/Merchandiser - Brighton and surrounding area

VSL Rudefood Limited part of the 2468 Group is a well-established Vending Company. We currently manage and maintain over 1000 vending machines with hot and cold food, drinks, snacks, and confectionery. We are seeking a Mobile Vending Merchandiser to join our team covering the Brighton and Hayward Heath area. We are seeking candidates from a retail customer service background or potentially a barista or food service background.

The Vending Operator/Merchandiser will be responsible for restocking and cleaning vending and coffee machines. This includes the handling, merchandising and care of the product, vehicle stocks and cash collection/recording, client liaison and quality matters in all areas.

Responsibilities –

• Traveling to client sites in your patch to restock their equipment
• Restocking of vending machines and coffee machine with a variety of products
• Cleaning machines and ensuring they are working to optimum levels
• Return to our Depot based out of Southampton once a week to reload
• Ensuring Technical faults are notified to the Service Desk
• Ensuring calls received from the Service Desk are closed down promptly once attended to
• Liaison with Engineer/Service Desk on machine faults.
• Under the direction of Management/Team Leader, providing cover for colleagues’ route when deemed necessary
• Ensuring any areas of customer dissatisfaction is brought to our attention are immediately notified to your Team Leader/Management
• Ensuring company vehicles are kept clean and tidy
• Attending team meetings when required
• Attend training courses when necessary

Physical requirements -

• Able to lift and move stock (confectionery, bottles and cans, syrups and paper cups) from vehicle to vending sites.
• Weights - handling weights of up to 10 kilos – where possible using lifts/trolleys but may have to climb stairs and or negotiate doors etc.
• Suitably dexterous to clean both inside and outside of a Vending Machine – including lifting and tipping bucket of liquid waste.
• Driving a 3.5-tonne van to the various site during your working day.

The successful candidate becomes the face of the company to the client, and so they need to be personable, professional and presentable at all times. The ideal candidate will also enjoy interacting positively with all clients. This is a Full-Time position, approx. 40 - 45 hours worked flexibly Monday to Friday. Would be advantageous if the ideal candidate would be able to start work early from 4.00am. Daily hours will vary with differing finish times depending on the needs of the business. This is a demanding job, looking after machines across different sites, so a good level of fitness is needed. Full training will be given. A full UK driving license is required (Manual only).
