About the role

Become part of the team on the ground installing our infrastructure for millions to enjoy super-fast services across the nation! You can have a genuine impact on our network success whilst earning and working toward professional qualifications.

Our Network Build Engineers are the ones who plan and deliver our high-speed network across the Virgin Media O2 Technical estate. You’ll be working inside our technical sites to install racks, equipment, copper cables, fibre cables and more.


Build skills for the future

As a Network Build Apprentice, you won’t just be installing the latest network equipment, you’ll gain exposure to fibre splicing, mobile network builds, fault resolutions, and more. Everything you do will mean that our customers can continue to enjoy our super-fast network with no problems.

Once you have successfully completed the scheme, you could also be responsible for:

    Reviewing project design documents to identify several requirements, such as infrastructure, connectivity, space, power and cooling

    Working in data centres to install, manage and support the physical infrastructure

    Reading detailed design documents and technical drawings

    Completing site surveys to understand the job that needs doing and how to do it

    Ensuring our delivery partners follow all Health & Safety rules and carrying out quality assurance audits on their installations to support our governance teams, as well as ensuring they meet the required level of compliance to technical build standards

You should have a passion for solving problems as you will take on different tasks every single day that have to be resolved quickly. The ability to prioritise and handle your responsibilities confidently under your own guidance. You’ll need to be comfortable leading numerous projects and have strong influencing skills too.
