About the role:

This role is open to applicants living in Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly who have access to an appropriately confidential home space in which to work. A new office is due to open for the service in Plymouth shortly and the role requires the ability to travel regularly to the office, to travel within Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and also on occasion further afield within England and Wales to fulfil requirements of the role.

The working hours for this role will generally be 09:00 to 17:00. However, local core service hours run from 09:00 to 18:00 and the role will require the flexibility to occasionally work outside 09:00 to 17:00 including at the weekend to meet the demands of the role. This is to be taken within flexible working arrangements.

As an Operations Manager, you will:

  • Ensure the delivery of excellent services in line with key performance indicators
  • Be accountable for the service performance including compliance with codes of practice & legislative requirements
  • Identify problems, risks & issues and provide solutions
  • Be responsible for recruitment, training, performance management, support & guidance for you team
  • Work collaboratively with both internal & external stakeholders
  • Undertake performance analysis, data analysis, auditing & reporting to drive service improvements
  • Ensure compliance with data protection legislation, confidentiality & organisational policies and procedures & other relevant legislation
  • Support Area Managers to identify opportunities and develop services in line with local identified need.

You will need: -

  • Knowledge & understanding of government policy relating to victims & the Criminal justice system
  • Experience & knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies, particularly in the criminal justice, health and social care sector
  • Understanding of safeguarding practice & legislation regarding diversity, inclusivity, safeguarding & risk assessments
  • A proven track record of successful delivering a service
  • Experience of leading and managing people who work in different ways
  • Experience of leadership and implementing change
  • The ability to manage a demanding work load & deal with conflicting priorities
  • The ability to work effectively and collaboratively with partner agencies
  • The ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data and use it to effectively produce reports
