Position Overview & Specifications

We are searching for a versatile Business Analyst to join our property valuation team in Middlesbrough. This role is integral to helping VAS Group achieve its vision: Being recognised as the most professional and comprehensive property valuation solutions business in the UK.

MUST be based in the UK and able to work from our Middlesbrough office, ideally at least 2 days a week.

The role includes an element of both Scrum Master and Testing responsibilities. You will be working closely with our near-shore development team to facilitate the continuous delivery of our custom CRM software. Alongside the software development, there will be opportunities to work directly with customer service teams to help document, analyse and optimise business processes.

Business analyst responsibilities:

  • Work closely with stakeholders and developers to elicit, analyse, and document requirements for software development project
  • Creation and manual test execution of acceptance criteria
  • Perform data analysis by collecting, analysing, and interpreting large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that will help to inform business decisions
  • Create and maintain dashboard reports, primarily using AWS Quicksight (training provided)
  • Document existing processes to ensure compliance with best practices and to promote consistency across the organisation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with various teams to implement these improvements
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to coordinate and execute projects

Scrum Master responsibilities:

  • Organise and facilitate sprint planning, review and retrospective meetings with joint development team
  • Facilitate daily stand-up meetings with the development team
  • Monitor the progress of the development team, identify and remove any obstacles that may impede team progress
  • Coach, mentor and encourage the team on Agile best practices
  • Act as a key point of contact between colleagues in the office and external IT service providers

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Business Analyst role or related fields
  • Relevant Bachelor/Mastersdegree
  • Tech savvy – able to assist colleagues with general IT matters
  • Familiar with Agile software development methodologies, e.g. Scrum
  • Demonstration of continual professional development with IIBA, PMI, BCS etc
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience with data analysis and dashboard reporting tools (Excel, Python, Quicksight, Power BI, Tableau etc). Training will be provided for AWS Quicksight
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
  • Desirable: Experience of the UK property market and valuation industry
