Position Overview & Specifications

We're delighted to be helping this longstanding client continue on with their significant growth, they are dedicated to building the next generation of capabilities for their merchant-first ecosystem. This role has a focus on Green Field work as this sits on the new features team, you'll get to work on interesting data visualisation tools along with developing white label products for ISV's focussed on split revenue payment models.

As a Principal Front-end Software Engineer, you will contribute to the transformation of their app suite into a modern and engaging experience for their clients. You'll use modern tools and frameworks like Typescript and React to design and construct data-rich portals, secure payment sites, and payment form elements with their User Experience team. You will also help them construct a reusable component library to assist their design system.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand merchant and partner needs and address them through high-quality, innovative solutions that deliver value.
  • Improve software development processes, methodologies, and tools through automation and simplification.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure technically accurate and useful deliverables, focusing on end-user observable and testable system behaviors.
  • Identify critical activities and tasks, assist with estimation and planning, communicate timely and accurate status updates, resolve issues, and contribute beyond assigned tasks.
  • Assist with software deployment activities to test environments and production.
  • Be proactive, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Foster a team-oriented environment, exhibiting professionalism, flexibility, and supporting workplace ethics.

Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of experience in front-end software engineering.
  • Expertise in front-end product development.
  • Proficiency in modern JavaScript (ES6/7+).
  • Strong design sense, translating prototypes into pixel-perfect, responsive user interfaces.
  • Proficiency in one or more modern web frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) and optimising front-end applications for fast load times.
  • Leadership qualities, staying aware of new technologies' applicability.
