The School of Advanced Study
– a nationally and internationally recognised centre of excellence in the promotion and facilitation of research in the Humanities and Social Sciences. It comprises eight internationally renowned research institutes as well as centres in Digital Humanities and Public Engagement. It has four nationally and internationally recognised specialist research libraries.


The Refugee Law Initiative
- is a unique academic centre promoting interdisciplinary research, teaching and exchange on law, policy and practice in refugee and displacement contexts. Established in 2010, the Refugee Law Initiative works in the UK and internationally to promote research and facilitate practical impact in the refugee and displacement field.


The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Refugee Law Initiative, teaching the research methods component of our distance-learning MA in Refugee Protection and Forced Migration Studies and on an elective module, conducting research and making a significant contribution to research promotion and facilitation in this field. You will work closely with the RLI director, Professor David Cantor, and with Professor Sarah Singer and a host of national and international teachers and experts who support the MA programme.

The University currently operates a Hybrid Working framework involving a mix of working remotely and in the office. Typically, in the School of Advanced Study staff are required to attend 3 days a week in term time.
