Two Positions Available

The Opportunity:

We are looking for two research practitioners to join our friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team of clinicians, allied health professionals and scientists. The post-holders will perform a vital role, assisting in the running of clinical research studies on incurable neurological diseases such as dementias, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and motor neuron disease.

The post-holder will disseminate clear information about studies to people with neurological conditions and other stakeholders, and encourage participation in research. They will manage appointments, take consents, collect clinical data including blood samples, co-ordinate sample logistics, as well as use modern data capture systems and web platforms to enter and maintain the data and run reports for researchers. The post is based in Edinburgh but there might be opportunities to travel to other collaborating centres throughout Scotland.

The Anne Rowling Clinic integrates care and research in a state-of-the-art facility. A key goal of the Clinic is to offer opportunities for people living with chronic neurological conditions to participate in research studies including clinical trials.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
  • Previous care or nursing experience
  • Previous research experience, especially if this is relevant clinical research
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate appropriately, and with discretion, with patients, carers, healthy volunteers and colleagues
