Position Overview & Specifications

We currently have a full time post available to join our Cancer Centre as a Data Quality and Performance Analyst based in the Princess Anne hospital. So if you're dynamic, enjoy data entry, can train others and are looking for an new exciting, challenging busy non patient-facing role this could be the post for you.

The ideal candidate will be data driven and have great attention to detail. You will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal. You will be able to work independently and part of a team and have good organisation skills. This is Band 5 role.

You will be working in the Cancer Centre alongside 2 Data Quality and Performance Analysts with a team of 30 Multi-Disciplinary Co-ordinators (MDT) covering the 27 different cancer sites.
We provide our services over core business hours (8am - 5pm) working Mon-Fri 37.5 hours per week.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOU’LL DO

You will have demonstrable experience of working under pressure in an acute clinical environment and be able to meet deadlines and be able to effectively prioritise different tasks.

Your interpersonal skills will enable you to be able to quickly forge good working relationships within the hospital and make you someone our patients can trust to effectively co-ordinate their care.

You will also have administrative experience with excellent typing and report writing skills, and be able to demonstrate precise attention to detail.

The post holder will demonstrate responsibility and accountability for the analytical side of data and reports.

You will be responsible for identifying any blockages or concerns in patient pathways, recommending solutions and changes to current processes to improve service delivery and compliance.

The successful candidate will chase up and complete national and local cancer data to ensure patients are up to date, required by NHSi, commissioners and Wessex Alliance on a weekly basis.

You will help with the training of new MDT Co-ordinators to the team, and fielding data queries before they get to operational level.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

This role is ideally suited for those candidates who are already working at a Band 4 level or above, and looking to develop themselves within the NHS, whilst actively working in and supporting multiple teams around them.

An understanding of pathway mapping, databases, analytical interpretation of data, and being able to communicate effectively to a variety of staffing levels will be essential in being successful for this post.
