About us

The Cancer Research UK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre (CTC) is a UKCRC registered and NCRI Clinical Trials Unit group member: https://www.ctc.ucl.ac.uk/ It is one of the largest cancer trials centres in the UK, with more than 115 members of staff managing >80 research studies.

The CTC conducts clinical studies in oncology, both nationally and internationally, with a cross-disciplinary approach to evaluate anti-cancer treatments, and investigate methods of diagnosis and early detection.

CRUK & UCL Cancer Trials Centre - Mission Statement:

• Work with national investigators, patients and charities, and other stakeholders to develop biomarker led studies offering personalised therapies to improve outcomes for patients, and to improve detection and early diagnosis

• To translate basic science discoveries and hypotheses into early phase clinical trials of biotherapeutics and advanced radiation therapy as an integral part of the CRUK City of London Centre and linked CRUK research programmes

• Deliver practice changing trials and advanced therapy trials: phase I-III

• Ensure that we work with our Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement members to develop streamlined protocols that build in the needs of diverse and disadvantaged populations with all our trials.

About the role

The Project Manager will help monitor the CAR-T cell clinical trial development programme from late pre-clinical, through grant funding to trial delivery (in adult and paediatric cancers). He/she will be associated with the whole portfolio (rather than a specific trial, for which there is already a study management team within the CTC).

The post holder will work with a dedicated team of trial coordinators and senior trial coordinators specialised in T cell based immunotherapies including CAR-T cells (ATIMP).

The post is funded for one year in the first instance.

About you

The post holder will have a demonstrable track record in project management and experience/knowledge of conducting clinical trials of investigational drugs/products, including knowledge of GCP, pharmacovigilance, the UK Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trial) Regulations, and ethics.

Experience in immunology research (preferentially cellular therapy) would be advantageous.
