Due to continued growth, Unifabs has an exciting opportunity available for an enthusiastic Manufacturing Apprentice. The successful candidate will be a dynamic person with the desire to learn and progress within the company.
Job Type: Full-time, 18 Month Apprenticeship
Salary: £11,830
Position Details:
- Day shift 09:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday
09:00 - 13:30 Friday
- Full-time, 32.5 hours basic per week
- Enrollment August 2023
What will the apprentice be doing?
A full range of manufacturing processes, gaining knowledge both on the job and in the classroom. Supported by experienced Manufacturing Technicians, areas covered will include:
- Interpreting Manufacturing Drawings - Interpretation of drawings, Tolerancing, Manufacturing symbolsSolidwork, Basic modelling, Drawings for manufacture, Basics of tolerancing
- CNC Laser / Punch - programming/Nesting, Operation, Inspection
- Press Brake / Metal Bending - Setting,Operating, Inspection
- Welding and Fabrication - Drilling/Tapping/Countersinking, Sawing,MIG/TIG/Spot Welding, In process inspection, Jigs & Fixtures
- Powder Coating - Loading/jigging, Pre-treatment, Robot Line, Manual Booth, Calibration
- Mechanical Assembly - Use of assembly tools, Interpretation of assembly drawings, Use of non-metallics, Packaging
- Inspection - Technical Inspection both in process and finished parts
What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?
- Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- Level 3 Development Competence qualification
- Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and Maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking end point assessment
What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?
- 3D Design Engineer, Mechanical Assembly, CNC punch / Laser operator, Welder/Fabricator, Press Brake Setter, Further training
