Junior Software Developer

A well-established sports and financial spread betting provider with over 20 years of experience in the industry. They offer a comprehensive range of services, including fixed odds betting, casino betting, and CFD trading. As the only global operator to provide all these services under one brand, we are dedicated to expanding our business and achieving significant growth in the next five years.

As a Junior Software Developer, you contribute to improving our business processes across various departments. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who enjoys using their problem-solving skills and coding expertise to integrate solutions into our systems.

As a Junior Software Developer, you will work closely with our team to maintain and develop our suite of applications used throughout the company, particularly within marketing, compliance, and back-office functions. You will collaborate with other business departments to identify technical solutions and work alongside our internal development team to implement them effectively.

As a Junior Software Developer, your responsibilities will be:

• Analyse new business requirements and propose appropriate technical solutions.
• Develop and implement solutions, including reports and applications, using C# and SQL coding for database interactions.
• Collaborate with the IT department and other stakeholders to document requirements and communicate them to the development team.
• Assist with user acceptance testing and ensure that new functionality meets the intended goals.
• Work with internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement.

Ideally your skill set will be:

• A mathematical or IT-based degree from a reputable university, with a grade of 2-1 or higher.
• Strong A-levels in science or math-related subjects.
• Programming experience, preferably in C#, with knowledge of SQL as an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills, particularly in quantitative and probabilistic analysis.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.

Their offices are based in St Albans, ideally you could travel into the office 3 days a week. However, they can be flexible and you could work remotely more often once settled.

As an Junior Software Developer, will be offered a salary of up to £55,000 + up to 30% bonus + Benefits.
