Our organisation is based in Barwell, Leicestershire, LE9 8BE, and we are eager for an experienced and enthusiastic Lens Technician to join our team. Relocation support could be available for the right person, together with potential visa sponsorship opportunities for overseas applicants.

This role is ideally suited to a proven Lens Technician with a sound understanding of lens mechanics and the ability to service specialist lenses. Particular knowledge of industry leading cinematography lenses, together with being an innovative and confident team player, will allow you to fully immerse yourself in our technology.

As part of our Re-Housing team, you will remove the optical units from their housing, servicing the optical components and building them into the new mechanics which you have checked prior to use. Further on the job training is available as you hone and specialise your skills, becoming an integral part of our future.

Key Responsibilities:

- Disassembly of lens mechanical systems

- Servicing of optical units

- Fit and assemble the new mechanical parts – checking parts using equipment, test & adjust using hand/machine tools

- Mark up the new mechanics and check test equipment

- Examine and work from engineering drawings & ability to fault find mechanical issues

- Problem solve optical discrepancies

Person Specification:

- Exceptional attention to detail

- To be able to work independently

- To take ownership of the role

- Good communication skills

Competence Level:

- Proven lens service technician with at least 3 years’ experience within the field

- Sound understanding of lens mechanics and ability to service specialist lenses

- Knowledge of industry leading cinematography lenses

- Consistent at cleaning optical components to an acceptable level

- Good understanding of how the mechanics of the rehousing work

- Confident in use of all machinery & tools required to carry out the role

- Confident in handling the small components

- Good communication with the team & workshop regarding stock levels

- Good cleanliness of desk & other areas of work

- Consistent at marking up

- Ability to problem solve mechanical discrepancies

- Ability to check off own work with confidence to standards

- Willing to ask questions as & when necessary
