Touchline fabrications Limited are a market leading steelwork contractor with an excellent reputation. Established in 1984, we design, Manufacture and install structural steelwork across the UK.

We have an opportunity for a bright, highly motivated individual to join our team who can learn all aspects of our trade and who after training, will work towards the role of senior estimator within our management team and benefit from their own success within the Employee owned Trust scheme.

This is an exciting opportunity for a college or university graduate looking for an apprenticeship as an Estimator where formal training will be given.

The Role

• Collation of client’s requirements and specifications from tender documentation.
• Carrying out accurate take-offs from Engineers drawings and specifications.
• Producing and submitting quotations and follow through to sales
• Research and identify new business opportunities
• Qualifying suppliers and sub-contractors to maintain our high-quality standards
• Procurement for factory stock and site materials.
• Manage job costing throughout each project from design to completion and producing regular financial reports for management meetings.

We are looking for applicants that have:

• Excellent personality and communication skills
• Have effective time management, organisational and multitasking skills
• Be highly skilled in the use of a variety of computer programmes, Excel, Word and Adobe
• The ability to read structural engineer drawings, scopes and specifications and produce take offs preferred
• Meticulous attention to detail
• Good numeracy skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good commercial acumen and negotiating skills
• This is a full-time office-based position in Preston and applicants must be local and able to commute daily. We will not consider any re-locations.
