Position Overview & Specifications

Applications are invited for a Study Coordinator to join the IMID (Immune Mediated Inflammatory Diseases) BioResource.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to be involved in the co-ordination for the IMID BioResource. The study involves creating a recallable national resource of patients who will volunteer to be recalled for research based on their genotype and phenotype. It will form part of the NIHR BioResource for translational research in common and rare diseases.

The role will involve working with the project manager for the study, liaising with a number of collaborating sites across the UK. You will be involved in the set up process at each site, carrying out site initiation visits and preparing governance and recruitment documentation. You will ensure that all sites have the documents and sample equipment required to carry out the study in a timely manner and monitor sites to ensure recruitment targets are met.

You will also be required to co-ordinate data management, ethics, quality control reporting and document management to Research Governance standards.

The post holder will be part of the Centre for Epidemiology Versus Arthritis, within the Centre for Musculoskeletal based in Stopford Building, University of Manchester however hybrid working will be in place as per the university’s current practice.

Appointment will start asap and run to 30th November 2024.

The Centre for Musculoskeletal Research (a European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology Centre of Excellence) hosts two Versus Arthritis Centres of Excellence (Genetics & Genomics; Epidemiology) and the RMD arm of the NIHR Manchester Biomedical Research Centre (MBRC).

This post is funded by the NIHR and you will join an existing team of study coordinators and project assistants.
