Position Overview & Specifications
Mental illnesses are associated with higher risk of adverse health behaviours (such as physical inactivity, poor diet, and smoking) and cardiometabolic diseases. These additional issues increase the personal, social and economic burden of mental illness across the lifespan.
To address this, our e-phit research team (see https://sites.manchester.ac.uk/e-phit/ ) are conducting a range of studies to examine how digital technologies and online interventions can be used to promote healthy lifestyles in young people with mental health condition.
The candidate selected for this Research Assistant opportunity will be working within our group’s a new program of research (supported by a UK Research and Innovation ‘Future Leaders Fellowship’ grant) examining the use of digital technologies for health promotion in young people with mental illness. The role will primarily focus on assisting clinical trials of digital interventions for reducing cardiometabolic risks in young people with mental illness. In particular, we are looking for individuals with experience in clinical intervention studies in mental health settings - especially with regards to online studies, youth mental health and lifestyle interventions
Length of contract: 1 year (with possibility for extended funding)
Full or part-time: Part Time (0.5 FTE, negotiable)
