Baker

This is your opportunity to grow within a team of experienced and dynamic bakers specialising in artisanal French bread and pastries, producing everything fresh from scratch with the best ingredients daily. You will have to work with bread and pastry doughs, be able to produce all kinds of pastries, make all kinds of cream, ganache and other preparations in order to build up final products. You will also participate in caring and cleaning up the laboratory and be mindful of the equipment and other people working in the area.

Opened in February 2021 in Whetstone (North London), The French Market is an artisanal French Bakery that produces a top quality range of artisanal classic French breads & pastries. We are supported by our retail shop on-site offering the bakery products as well as a very large selection of cheeses, fine food, wines & spirits. We also produce breads and pastries to be sold in our other bakery located in Tufnell Park (The Tufnell Park Bakery) and supply a few local restaurants and cafés, including our own wine bar & shop (Authentique Epicerie & Bar). In a little bit more than a year, we've gained recognition as one of the best artisanal bakeries in London. We source most of our ingredients from small premium suppliers in France.

Working alongside our experienced Head Baker Ludovic, we are looking for passionate Bakers to join our expanding team.

Baking experience and requirements:

• Minimum 1 year employment in an artisanal bakery
• Experience in both making doughs, and pastry
• Passionate about baking specialist breads and keen to develop skill
• A strong team player with a positive attitude to problem solving
• Happy and able to work early morning shifts (from 4am)
• This is a full-time position: 45 hours a week
• Overtime is paid
• 28 days paid holiday per year
• If you're not English or don't have a pre-settled or settled agreement, we have a license to produce skilled worker visa but you will need to pass successfully an English Test.

Salary: £29,000.00-£36,000.00 per year
