Gardener

The Biscuit Factory is an art gallery and events space in the Ouseburn area of Newcastle.

We are seeking a Gardener to manage and maintain our planting schemes. This is suited to someone with gardening experience, but who may be looking for a slower paced role.

Hours: 15 hours per week, flexible (around events commitments)

Rate: £11.50 per hr

Start date: June

Main areas of responsibility:

- The Garden Room (opening in coming months) is a purpose built orangery that hosts a variety of tropical plants and trees and will be used for private hire.

- Across the building we have living walls and potted trees.

- The cafe terrace - external south facing terrace with wall planting.

- Small area of external landscape maintenance

We have automatic watering systems in place, but the planting requires regular maintenance, pruning, weeding and tidying to ensure they are all looking at their best. Particularly ahead of private hire events in The Garden Room.
