We’re on the hunt for an Apprentice Underwriting Assistant to join us on a new apprenticeship scheme. We are pleased to now be able to invite applications for this role, so whether you are looking to start your career in insurance or already have some experience this could be for you!

So what does an Underwriting Assistant do?

This is an overview and not an exhaustive list of responsibilities

• Preparation and production of client records
• Preparation, production, and delivery of policy renewal invitations
• Checking Third Party databases and accurately recording results
• Production of management information reports and creating outputs for the business
• Distribution of policy administration system-based post and emails and handling and directing telephone calls
• At least 20% of the working week to be allocated to apprenticeship studies

What are we looking for

• Someone with a comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products
• Ideally you will have farm knowledge/ background and you want to get into the Insurance Industry
• It would be great if you will have an awareness of the underwriting cycle and are looking to develop specialist underwriting knowledge in a supported environment, but this is not essential
• Demonstrable ability to meet deadlines and organise personal workloads
• Excellent written verbal and numerical skills
• Highly organised with a focus on objectives, priorities, and deliverables
