Position Overview & Specifications

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Patient Access Manager to join Swansea Bay's Patient Access Team. The post holder will have a key role in the managing, planning and implementation of Patient Access Standards within Swansea Bay University Health Board together with the supporting the provision of an educationally and clinically sound Corporate RTT Training Programme to support a competent and safe workforce.

The Health Board has experienced challenges in meeting Patient Access standards which has been driven by rising demand for our services, competing pressures and the need to improve our clinical pathways and administrative processes and also the COVID pandemic. However, we aspire to provide a high quality, effective pathway at every stage of the elective journey and also look beyond access targets to ensure that our pathway is truly sustainable, and the Patient Access Manager will be pivotal in achieving this.

The post holder will support the Head of Performance and Transformation in all aspects of performance management facilitating the delivery of national patient access standards.

The successful candidate will support the Head of Performance and Transformation in the delivery of patient access standards. They will maintain a professional knowledge base of the existing and new guidance and legislation relating to patient access; acting as an expert in Referral To Treatment (RTT) guidance providing challenge, governance and support to the health board.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering specialisttraining, which includes ensuring that Referral to Treatment (RTT) guidelines are adhered to and administered appropriately within all services.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and work to tight deadlines, providing exemplary administrative and organisation skills.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable
