Position Overview & Specifications

  • £24,496 per annum (pro rata if part time)
  • 16 Hours per week (set days and times Mon, Tues, Thurs & Fri 9am - 1pm)

Job Details

We have a great opportunity to join Suffolk County Council's Stowmarket Registration Office as a Registration Assistant working at the Register Office, Milton Road, Stowmarket.

Your role and responsibilities

The Suffolk Registration Service is responsible for registering births, deaths and marriages, civil partnerships, and citizenship ceremonies. Registration Assistants carry out a varied range of administrative support functions across all areas of the service.

  • working as part of the team at the Stowmarket Registration Office carrying out a wide range of administrative support to the team
  • attending ceremonies at a range of locations in the area to complete the ceremony's legal paperwork
  • taking bookings for appointments and ceremonies and handling payments
  • you will need to be professionally presented at all times.

You will need

  • to be able to demonstrate good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • to be calm and methodical under pressure
  • have good knowledge of using IT and software programmes
  • the confidence to work with people who are bereaved or who have heightened emotions.
