Position Overview & Specifications

Job Description

The Scottish Government has committed significant investment to local planning partnerships to enable them to build capacity and deliver transformational system change in how whole family support services are provided in each area.

In Stirling this is a key element of how we will collectively keep The Promise. We want to ensure children, young people and families can access the support they need, where and when they need it.

We are creating a multi-disciplinary Intensive Family Support Team which will offer families access to holistic support that is wrapped around their individual needs. Our vision is to support families at an early stage of intervention, as well as at times of crises. This support will allow families to build resilience and coping strategies with the aim that they do not need to receive support from statutory services. This team will work on transforming the delivery of family support, shifting towards preventative intervention, and in future reducing the need for crisis intervention.

We are looking for a number of Intensive Home Care Workers to join this team as we look to change how we deliver support to families.

This is an exciting and varied role which will see a range of tasking to support whole families to be successful in meeting their needs. These individuals will be skilled at working alongside families in building on existing strengths and in helping families identify and address areas of challenge. In addition to practical tasking, including direct home care tasks, this role will also be about maximising future family potential and maintaining children safely at home in their family.

We are looking for individuals who can partner sensitively with families and are able to build meaningful relationships with families and other professionals to achieve better outcomes for children.

As part of transforming service delivery this post could involve working evenings or weekends, in line with the needs of the service. The post holders will require to be responsive to the needs of the service, and demonstrate flexibility in their ability to responding to changing need.

This is a time limited post (2 years) in line with the Scottish Government Whole Family Wellbeing Monies, with the potential for extension in future depending on the release of further funds.

Requirements

As well as the relevant qualifications and experience, qualities we are looking for in the successful candidate are, a can do attitude, vision, passionate about supporting children and their families, energy, initiative, good communication skills and self-discipline. More details are available in the job description.

The successful candidate will be required to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme (PVG) for children and adults. If your application is progressed after the interview, you will be invited to complete the form and have your details verified.

If you've got the right skills for the job we want to hear from you. We encourage applications from the right candidates regardless of age, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, belief or race.
