Position Overview & Specifications

St George’s Library is a busy, multi-disciplinary health sciences library serving users from St George’s University of London and staff of the NHS.

We are looking for a qualified LIS graduate, or someone working towards their LIS qualification, to help support our Liaison Librarians. You will be part of a small, busy team, based at St George’s, University of London in Tooting. This role will focus on supporting our NHS staff, mainly from our local hospital – St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Key attributes of the successful applicant include:

  • Educated to graduate standard or equivalent
  • Interest in delivering excellent information literacy skills training and developing skills in this area
  • Experience of database searching
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective team worker

You will need excellent communication skills and a willingness to both assist with, and also deliver and design Information Skills training. You will need to deal with users with a diverse range of needs. Flexibility, as well as being able to work independently, are crucial.
