Physician Associate in Senior Health

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Acute Medicine & Senior Health Departments at St George's Hospital. We are looking to recruit up to 3 x Physician Associates (PA) to join our busy teams and will work specifically in Senior Health / Geriatrics alongside a multi-disciplinary team of Consultants, Senior/Junior Clinical Fellows, Nurses, Therapists and Management/Admin colleagues to care for patients on a day-to-day basis.

There is Consultant and Registrar support and supervision at all times and will be encouraged to participate in audits, research and to attend regular departmental teaching.

Physician Associates (PA’s) will be a new but important part of the team in Acute and Senior Health medicine. They will work alongside the junior doctors, consultants, therapists and nursing staff to care for patients on a day-to-day basis. It is expected that they will be a valued and integral part of the team. There is Consultant and registrar support and supervision at all times. We have enjoyed hosting PA students for a number of years and look forward to welcoming the skills they bring. PAs will, be encouraged to take part in audits and research, and be expected to attend regular departmental teaching.

A large number of services, such as cardiothoracic medicine and surgery, neurosciences and renal transplantation, also cover significant populations from Surrey and Sussex, totalling around 3.5 million people.

The trust also provides care for patients from a larger catchment area in southeast England, for specialties such as complex pelvic trauma. Other services treat patients from all over the country, such as family HIV care and bone marrow transplantation for non-cancer diseases. The trust also provides a nationwide state-of-the-art endoscopy training centre.
