Shop Manager – Gaerwen & Holyhead

Location: Gaerwen (28hrs) & Holyhead (7hrs) Shops

Hours: 35 hours per week, to include weekends

Salary: £19,425 p.a.

Reportable to: Retail Manager & Warehouse Supervisor

Contract: Permanent, 9am – 5pm (with one hour lunchbreak) working 5 out of 7 days.

Who we are:

St David’s Hospice is a local charity providing hospice care to adult patients across Conwy, Gwynedd and Anglesey. Currently, we have three clinical sites, and a Hospice at Home service, and our café and 20 retail outlets across North West Wales play an important role in supporting our services.

Integrity and care are at the heart of our culture and will be centric to the role of the Shop Manager.

What you’ll do:

As a Shop Manager you will work closely with the public receiving goods, identifying and pricing items ready to be sold at the St David’s Hospice shop, you will have responsibility of ensuring the shop window displays are appealing and welcoming whilst generating income for the hospice.

We are looking for someone who will:

• Be able to turn goods over quickly by having a strong sales or retail background
• Deliver the best customer service & promote the hospice at every opportunity
• Develop the store and increase revenue
• Look for opportunities to generate income within the job role.
• Ability to follow procedure with particular reference to the Hospice’s Retail Policy contents.

To do the role you’ll need:

• Experience of working in a similar role
• Excellent communications skills
• Customer service and / or sales experience
• Experience in displaying goods
• Empathy for the Hospice, and alignment with the charity’s values
