Mobile Plant Fitter

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The purpose of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient installation and maintenance of all processing equipment and mobile plant within SRC Group and maintaining plant equipment to a high standard.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Responsible to: Plant Manager

Liaison with: Directors, Managers, Employees, Clients

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MAIN TASKS OF JOB:

• Maintaining service and inspection records for all plant and attachments

• Commissioning of Crusher and Screener machinery and equipment before commencement of work at all SRC Group or client sites as directed by Plant Manager.
• To travel to all SRC Group and client sites as requested. (This may include weekends)
• Assist in producing Risk assessments and Safe systems of work with task specific roles.
• To ensure all machinery and equipment is installed in a safe and productive manner
• To ensure preventative maintenance, repair work, overhauls and installations as appropriate is carried out as per instructions from Quarry Manager / Plant Manager.
• Fault find mechanical faults and repair equipment in breakdown situation.
• Schedule all maintenance down time with Quarry Managers, Plant Manager and maintenance Team
• Ensuring machine down time is at a minimum whilst maintenance is conducted at a high standard
• To inform Plant Manager of stock levels and wear parts to ensure parts and equipment availability prior to commencement of any maintenance or repair work being carried out.
• To anticipate, report or repair any equipment requiring remedial work that may affect the continuity of plant operations
• To ensure all work is carried out to a high standard with fine attention to detail.
• Assisting Quarry Managers with product quality and machine efficiency.
• To maintain and complete accurate records for all work completed using daily diary sheets and job sheets and presented to the Plant Manager on a weekly basis
• To identify and maintain quantity and functionality of tools and equipment as instructed by the Plant Manager
• Upon completion of tasks, all waste parts are disposed correctly adhering with SRC Group Environmental policy.
• To ensure issued Personal Protection Equipment and tools are always maintained in a safe and hygienic condition and used throughout the course of your related duties
• To comply with the company’s Factory Production Control Manual in support of SRC Quality Objectives
• To perform duties as directed by Manager

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• Enthusiastic, committed and a fast learner with previous experience of a busy environment
• Health and Safety trained or working towards
• Strong communication skills and willingness to take instruction.
• Ability to work with individuals across departments and liaise with external customers and contacts
• Experience working with heavy plant
• Mechanical qualification or working towards

Van and fuel card given when you join the company. Own tools are advantageous but any other tools will be provided.
