Position Overview & Specifications

Hospital Porter - Theatres | Spire Nottingham Hospital | Permanent | Full time – 37.5 hours | £20,397 per annum + Extensive Benefits

Spire Nottingham Hospital is a state-of-the-art private hospital. We offer consultations with specialists in a wide range of treatments, supported by advanced imaging and diagnostic technology. As part of our dedication to providing the best treatments and services we are looking for a Porter to join theatres our team.

This position is a full time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week. We work Monday to Friday on a rota basis, shifts completed between 07.00 and 22.00. There will be possibility of occasional night shift coverage.

This an excellent opportunity and a great role for someone that can thrive in a busy environment and enjoys speaking to people.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • With a strong focus on Customer Service and providing a friendly ear to patients during what can sometimes be a particularly unsettling time, our team of Porters provide a vital service in our Hospital.
  • Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function you will also be required to perform a number of varied duties such as managing incoming and outgoing post and deliveries, all waste collection and disposal (including clinical)
  • You will also be responsible for the movement of all goods and equipment when required and any additional tasks as requested.

  • A customer focused individual who can work as part of team, but who will also take initiative to work alone.
  • An awareness of health, safety and hygiene, particularly infection control is desirable.
  • The nature of this job means the hours of duty may change in line with the needs of the business, therefore flexibility is essential
  • Full training will be provided.
