We are a small family run business, established in 2005, selling party and cake decorating supplies and are looking for two dedicated, hard working, self-motivated individuals to join us

We are looking for two part time Shop Assistants to join our family run party and cake decorating supplies business. The ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills, are capable of problem solving with the confidence to work quickly, effective and independently whilst assisting customers with their purchases. They must feel at ease while creating bespoke balloon displays using latex balloons and helium, both at events and in front of waiting customers, in a high-pressure and a fast-moving environment.

As many of our customers struggle to explain their vision, a resilient, positive and creative attitude with an eye for detail is vital. This enables us to visualise and interpret our customer’s needs successfully, resulting in a positive experience and service. Our staff are highly self-motivated, reliable and trust worth individuals with a strong work ethic and are organised by nature. They have the ability to work to a tight time frame, are dependable and should have a working knowledge of modern technology (similar to POS till systems and computer programs such as excel, however training can be given to update these skills). They have a passion to constantly learn new skills, techniques and product knowledge to keep up with the latest trends and food safety guidelines to deliver a high standard of work. A minimum of 3years previous experience in shop work or similar environment, with a basic knowledge of stock rotation, stock maintenance records, volume control and can comfortably work in line with existing standards and other colleges is essential.

The role will be maintaining the day to day running of the shop, restocking shelves, recording deliveries and general cleaning whilst assisting customers with their needs. You will need to feel confident in blowing up and tying latex and foil balloon displays.

This is not a cake decorating position. Having a drivers license is a bonus but not essential.

Part-time hours: 16 per week

Salary: £10.42 per hour
