Job Overview

As part of our ongoing commitment to offer more flexible working opportunities, we are delighted to be recruiting for a brand new, part-time Field Performance Manager role within our Wastewater Operations.

Working in close collaboration with your job share colleague, as Field Performance Manager you will play a vital part in the frontline of our day-to-day operations, focussed on protecting the environment and ensuring the delivery of a high-quality service to our customers.

You will be responsible for managing a team of highly skilled Process Operators across East Sussex ensuring that our sites perform in a consistently safe, compliant and cost-efficient way.

No two days are the same. Our Field Performance Managers enjoy working outdoors, in a fast paced and high-pressured environment with exposure to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, to help us deliver significant environmental improvements and renewable power generation, which is vital for the local community and best value to our customers.

About You

This role will make excellent use of your strong leadership skills and natural ability to get the best out of your team, as well as your love of problem solving and can-do attitude to work.

Prior experience in the Water Utilities industry, and an understanding of the Wastewater Treatment process would be advantageous but is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates outside of the sector, bringing fresh perspectives and ideas. This role has a focus on teamwork, communication, and performance management. If you have a positive can-do attitude, previous experience working as a team player, and the ability to motivate and coach a team, then we would love to hear from you.

Package

This role will be full time Monday to Friday with a hybrid approach to working between our sites across East Sussex and home.

We are offering a starting salary of £39,400 FTE (this will be pro-rated according to agreed working pattern) per annum depending on skills and experience as well as other benefits including:

  • Company and performance-related bonus
  • Generous pension with up to 11% company contribution
  • Life assurance payment equal to four times your annual salary
  • Health benefits through a Cash Plan
  • Two paid community volunteering days a year
  • 25 days annual holiday
  • Occupational health service
  • Perkbox benefits offering discounts and savings on several products and experiences
  • Study support may be available for job-related qualifications
  • We offer competitive maternity leave and flexible return to work options

Join our Wastewater team and see how far your career could progress with a company committed to career progression, training and development opportunities, our customers and the environment.

Does this opportunity excite you but you’re not 100% sure if you meet all the requirements for the role? Or are you concerned that ‘normal’ office hours aren’t possible given your personal circumstances? Whilst we can’t accommodate every flexible working request, we’ll try to find a practical solution. So why not engage with us and find out more about this role?

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, because delivering water for life is our core purpose. To achieve this, we need 24/7 support in place to resolve incidents quickly and efficiently. All our employees understand the importance of out-of-hours incident support – because when problems appear, fixing them is our top priority. That’s why our people join together and support when and however needed to make sure our customers get the service they deserve. Joining the Southern Water family means you’ll become part of our incident support team. During your interview, your manager will speak to you about any incident support rotas that apply to your position.

At Southern Water we are committed to offer flexibility and a broad range of benefits to reward and recognise the difference you make and succeeding together with the others to achieve our goal. View our benefit page here - Benefits (southernwater.co.uk)
