Position Overview & Specifications
We are proud to say we achieve our goals of seeing all newly referred young people within a maximum of 6 weeks from acceptance of referral and have waiting times of no more than a few weeks for specialist therapies including CBT.
We have average caseloads across the team of 15-25 young people, weighted based upon complexity and treatment planning, a comprehensive induction plan including shadowing members of the CAMHS West team and wider CAMHS service and frequent opportunities for additional training in therapies such as EMDR, DBT, CBT trainee posts, eating difficulties and AMBIT for those clinicians interested in broadening their skill set.
Alongside your CBT therapy sessions, you would be a valued member of our diverse Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing assessment and intervention to children and young people with Mental Health Disorders allowing you to work flexibly and creatively to ensure positive outcomes for the children young people and families in our service. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of CBT therapists, family therapists, psychologists, mental health practitioners (Mental Health Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists), Psychiatrists and Support Workers. We ensure regular opportunity to support clinical discussion and shared hold of risk and risk management.
We are also looking for someone who is able to contribute to the team dynamic and learning by contributing to team meetings, peer supervision and clinical supervision. Ideally we would like someone who is CBT supervisor accredited or willing to work towards this accreditation to support our yearly programme of CBT trainee posts through Exeter University.
We also provide learning afternoons across both sides of the county to our wider CAMHS team which are lead and attended by clinicians from all backgrounds and experience. We are looking for a practitioner who can continue to build on developing a strong systemic approach to assessments and reflecting team practice.
