Position Overview & Specifications

Job title: Learning and Teaching Assistant

Department: Learning and Teaching Enhancement
Contract Type: Permanent (Successful candidate must be based in the UK for the duration of their contract)
Salary: Grade 5 £27,900 - £31,316 inclusive of London Weighting
Location: Bloomsbury, London
Hours: 35 per week

About the Department

The Learning and Teaching Enhancement department is responsible for the operation of key services including, but not exclusively, the Virtual Learning Environment that drives Blended Learning initiatives, ongoing curriculum reviews, the student learning centre. Implementing pedagogical excellence and teaching development for SOAS academic staff and will deliver programmes within the UK Professional Standards Framework.

About the Role

The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support, to produce a range of documents to a general specification or brief. To assist in the provision of professional operational services across the Learning and Teaching Enhancement teams, and to maximise their working.

About you

You will need to demonstrate:

  • Ability to work independently

  • Demonstrated collaborative and cooperative approach and work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to process purchase orders through the full lifecycle and advise others on budgets.
  • Effective planning, organisational and prioritising skills including ability to respond to changing pressures or requirements.
  • Demonstrable willingness to learn new systems including through independent learning and receiving training.
