Simply Education is currently working in partnership with several special schools in Northamptonshire. We are currently looking for candidates who can commit to consistent days to ensure the continuity for all students is met. Previous experience as a teaching assistant or supporting children with additional needs is desirable. However, we can provide full training to support candidates that are new to the role.
The ideal Teaching Assistant must be nurturing with the ability build relationships with pupils. Knowing every day might be different being adaptive and re-active is very important. The pupils need a Teaching Assistant they can trust and connect with as well as someone who will guide and nurture them. The school aims to maximise each pupil’s potential by enabling their pupils to achieve as much independence as possible and to enjoy a quality of life which is both stimulating and rewarding.
The ideal teaching assistant will have the following attributes:
Ability to build strong, long-lasting relationships with young people
Can communicate effectively with young people
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Able to always promote and encourage independence.
Willingness to take part in extracurricular activities
Have a positive approach to learning
Ability to promote and model the development of positive social behaviours and self-regulation skills
