Position Overview & Specifications

Siemens is creating its first UK based Rail Industry Hub on the outskirts of Goole in the East Riding of Yorkshire.

With an initial contract to assemble nearly 50 trains to service the Piccadilly line on the London Underground we are starting to recruit nearly 300 skilled technical and support colleagues at in our Manufacturing Facility.

In the near future follow-on work is expected to bring this number of trains into the hundreds, along with an expansion on the site into maintenance and overhaul activities displaying a long-term commitment to the area and growth in employment and career opportunities.

  • The successful candidate will oversee a team of warehouse operatives to manage the flow of materials within the site, from receipt, storage to safe and efficient delivery to the production line as required, while ensuring the highest level of stock integrity
  • The role is pivotal in ensuring our production teams operate efficiently, so the warehouse supervisor will ensure that all activity is completed in a timely manner, ensuring the best use of time and people.
  • The successful candidate will be accountable for hitting daily, weekly and monthly KPI’s, ensuring that management are aware of any potential issues, constantly looking to identify areas for improvement.

This is your role. What part will you play?

To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate:

  • Suitable experience of working within a warehouse environment in a similar role (or deputised for a similar role)
  • Experience of leading a small/medium size warehouse team
  • Experience of leading an MHE operation (FLT or similar)
  • Experience of working in a target driven environment and reporting key metrics to management
  • Working in an environment where safety is paramount

It would also be helpful to have the following:

  • HSE qualification (such as IOSH / NEBOSH)
  • FLT license (Or similar MHE)
  • Experience with SAP (Or similar WMS systems)
  • Experience in working in a cross cultural environment
