The Role

As Graduate Recruiter, you will support a portfolio of business partners across various functions and classes of business, understanding the business context and talent strategy in order to secure top talent for Shell’s Graduate Programme (SGP). Working in a global team, this position will be responsible for graduate recruitment in the UK.

What’s the role?

We’ll entrust you to:

  • Develop trusted relationships and 2-way engagement with business partners (hiring managers, talent, HR) to understand business strategy and priorities, roles, and talent needs both short and longer term.

  • Hold professional Job Brief Meeting with hiring managers to fully inform resourcing strategy and ensure DE&I priorities are established.

  • Working across Graduate vacancies, partner with the sourcing and marketing teams to determine the right sourcing and marketing strategy for identifying high-fit candidates.

  • Manage the successful recruitment (quality, speed, cost and diversity of end-to-end pipeline) of approximately 40-45 graduate target positions per annum.

  • Differentiate candidate capabilities to shortlist and guide business on objective ratings to differentiate candidates

  • Be the key engagement point for Candidates ensuring an excellent candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.

  • Lead the offer making process to secure smooth, timely selection and appointment of candidates.

  • Build a continuous, collaborative delivery partnership with key Resourcing teams: Global Sourcing, Resourcing Operations, Talent Operations and Recruitment Marketing. Ensure clarity and alignment across stakeholders to enable coordinated, effective, posting, screening, assessment and offer management. Contribute to collaborative engagement with virtual network of team members, engaging them on the context and needs of the hire.

  • Attend networking and recruitment events and generally build a pipeline of possible candidates for designated skill pools.

  • Ensure data quality and timely, accurate tracking and recording of information in recruiting systems for positions and candidates.

  • Be a visible Shell Ambassador in the external market, engaging with relevant networks and associations, as relevant to the portfolio of roles.

  • Identifying and leading work to improve the ongoing delivery & operational effectiveness of Resourcing, e.g., Continuous Improvement scope, or assessment upgrades

  • Be a frontline bastion of integrity in Shell decision making for hiring. Understand & adhere to high standards of compliance across all accountabilities. Take personal responsibility for data protection, equal opportunities always in addition to HSSE and Shell governance policies.

This role supports a portfolio of business and skill pool segments in the UK, understanding the business context and workforce needs in order to manage end-to-end graduate recruitment.

The role requires a resilient, passionate professional who thrives in a highly demanding operational environment. Strong business partnering skills are essential in the engagement with (senior) stakeholders across the business and the role requires the incumbent to be proactive and engaging.

Furthermore, you will have:

  • Proven experience in Graduate Recruitment, Campus Recruitment, or Early Careers space, preferably in a matrix global environment

  • Good relationship and collaborative skills to work with a variety of partners, stakeholders, and peers. (True Business Partnering)

  • Commitment and appetite for Continuous improvement and Operational Excellence

  • Ability to balance out the workload and manage Operations whilst keeping candidates and stakeholders happy
