Consumer Insights Analyst

London (Battersea) / Hybrid - typically 2 days per week WFH


Our Consumer Insights Analyst is on the front lines of product research and development. We meet with consumers in a variety of settings and collect data on needs, motivations, user experiences, perceptions and behaviours, working cross functionally and globally with all the product development teams to ensure that the voice of the consumer is being heard and is being realised in our products.

The role:

  • Develop research plans and conduct qualitative (IDIs; focus groups; shelf assessments) and quantitative (surveys) consumer research for new product development and commercialisation.
  • Organizing research with internal stakeholders and external third-party agencies.
  • Construct, maintain and issue project plans to project team members.
  • Establish appropriate processes & methodologies for consumer research projects including research partner collaboration as required, with an interesting in bringing in new methodologies.
  • Conduct research to link product development projects to customer and market needs.
  • Translate feedback, including latent needs and dissatisfaction, into product innovation and development recommendations – working with teams over the course of the product development and launch cycle to ensure these are addressed.
  • Travel will be required to conduct research with a balance between in-person and virtual research – there is also potential for travel within the UK and to our US headquarters in Boston.

  • Represents and balances the consumer perspective when providing insight and recommendations to improve consumer experience

  • Handles shifting priorities and resources. Understands that not all paths are defined and uses their experience to add value.
  • Demonstrates creative and innovative thinking
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence and patience and adapts style to their audience.
  • Effectively collaborates with consumer insights teams in the EU, UK and US to develop and publish a comprehensive understanding of consumer needs and expectations.

Basic Qualifications and skills

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, ideally with a focus on Marketing, Psychology, Economics, Consumer Research, or other applicable subject area OR a minimum of five years of market research experience.
  • Creative problem solver while working with established budget.
  • Strong articulate communication, excellent presentation and MS skills
  • Outstanding influencing skills.
  • Data analysis and synthesis.
  • Translate data sets into easily digested and understood formats to identify and understand customer needs and uses data for new product ideas and benefits.
  • Training and experience on moderating focus groups and one-on-one interviewing (desirable)
  • 2-3 years of research experience in qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Exposure to the Consumer Goods industry (desirable).
