Care and Support Assistant - PH

I am looking for a Care and Support Assistant to work with my 14 year old daughter in Leominster who has Kabuki Syndrome which is a disorder causing learning difficulties, delayed development, sensory processing impairments and hearing difficulties.

You will be supporting her with taking her and about, doing her favourite activities and trying new ones.

She like going out for food, going bowling, going for bubble tea, and going to Flip Out.

I am looking for a kind, caring, and patient person who is understanding of teenagers with disabilities, and are sensitive to their needs.

The PA should have a good sense of humour and be able to promote independence.

4 hours per week in term time and 8 hours during the holidays. Days and times to be agreed.

£11 per hour.

About Me

I would like a PA to take me out and about, doing my favourite activities and trying new ones. I like going out for food, going bowling, going for bubble tea, and going to Flip Out. I recently went banger racing for the first time and had a great time.

Job details

Personal care.

• I am fairly independent when it come to dressing myself, but I do need help with zips and buttons.
• You will need to make sure I’m safe while using public toilets and reminding me to wash my hands afterwards.

Hobbies and social activities

• To support me to do activities and helping me find new ones.

Supporting me at various events

• To assist with any personal care needs, obtaining drinks and refreshments.

Safety

• I have little road sense so making sure I am safe when out and about.
• I love meeting people and will talk to anyone so making sure I'm safe while doing so.

About You

Previous experience of similar work is desirable but not essential, as I will make sure you get the training you need.

You must be able to understand the importance of confidentiality, be patient, calm, be a good communicator and have a good sense of humour.

You will need to be a car driver/owner

About Direct Payments

Direct payments are available from Local Authorities for people who have a care and support plan in place following a social care assessment. An amount of money is allocated to purchase the assistance and care needed to live independently.

I should stress that I will be your employer and have full responsibility for recruitment, contracts, supervision, pay, training etc. A support service assists my Mum in meeting her responsibilities as an employer.

Hours: These are the minimally contracted hours. If I require additional support at other times I will try to give as much notice as possible, an ability to be flexible would be an advantage

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 4-8 per week

Salary: £11.00 per hour
