Position Overview & Specifications
We are seeking an experienced caregiver / teacher for young toddlers 10-18 months old, to join our team. This is a full time position with benefits.
Sequoia Children’s Center is a high quality, NAEYC accredited, preschool and childcare center located in Redwood City, CA.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 ECE including 3 Units Infants & Toddlers (AA in Early Childhood Education preferred).
- 1 year experience working with young children in a licensed childcare setting working with children ages 0-24 months.
- CA Child Development Teacher's Permit, (or apply within one month of hire).
- Pediatric First Aid and CPR Certificates (or obtain within one month of hire).
- Able to be physically active, lift up to 30 pounds chest high; bend, kneel & sit on floor, for working with children.
Successful candidates demonstrate:
- A passion for working with young toddlers and their families.
- Strong team teaching, child engagement, and family engagement skills.
- Experience with child assessment & familiarity with baby sign language.
- Strong inter-personal communication skills.
- Excellent English (spoken & written).
Other Requirements:
- A professional and friendly attitude.
- Promotion of the Center's philosophy and mission.
- Adherence to all licensing regulations and NAEYC accreditation guidelines.
- Mandated Reporter.
- Pass health and TB screening and Department of Justice fingerprint clearance.
- Infectious Disease Prevention training (to be completed within one month of hire).
- Continued ongoing training via webinars, workshops, etc; during the course of employment.
