JOB DESCRIPTION
ASSISTANT LAND AGENT

LOCATION: Claydon, Hill View Business Park. Driving licence required as some occasional travelling/working to client locations.

HOURS: 8.30am to 5pm – 5 Days per week.

RESPONSIBLE TO: George Thomas

EXPERIENCE: Land Agent, Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and

Fellowship of the CAAV is also preferrable but not essential.

Will consider graduate positions also.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Estate Management
Overseeing Farms and Estates as fixed fee management work.
This would include managing environmental schemes as well as all client requests.

Agreement Structuring
Assisting with monitoring and updating the Sentry farm business schedule.
Drafting Farm Business Tenancies and Contract Farming Agreements.
Serving Notices and reviewing rents for AHA and FBT Agreements.
Drafting a range of Licences.

Subsidy Claims and Environmental Schemes
Basic Payment scheme, submission of applications.
Countryside Stewardship, new applications, and annual claims.
ELMS applications as new schemes such as SFI phase in.
Capital grant applications and claims.

Utility Works and Compensation Claims
Overseeing acquiring authority projects on behalf of clients and supervision of contractors.
Negotiation, measurement, calculation, and submission of compensation claims.

Property Management
Incorporating 31 residential dwellings for 4 separate management clients. Requirements include the following - estate budgets, repairs, and maintenance schedules, rent reviews, annual inspections, employment and supervision of contractors, management of rental ledgers and bank accounts. Project managing renovation works as properties become vacant.

Planning
Permitted development applications, full planning applications and general advice in regard to development opportunities.

Boundaries and Mapping
Assisting with Boundary disputes and mediation between the parties.
Creation of Land Registry compliant and farm plans through mapping tools.

Insurance
Assistance in the updating and management of schedules for vehicles and buildings.

Any other tasks that may be required of you to fulfil your role and assist the team.

You will be reporting to George Thomas, your line manager. You may also be asked to complete other tasks by the Business Director Alec Smith or the Managing Director, Paul Christian.

You will be required to travel predominantly around East Anglia, although occasionally nationwide, which may necessitate nights away from home.
