Role overview
The Research & Information Services (R&IS) team sits within the Membership, Global and Governance Directorate and supports the information needs of the staff and membership of the RCOG, as well as researchers and members of the public. R&IS also manages and delivers the heritage and library service for the Royal College of Midwives (RCM). As part of the team, and reporting to the Library Manager, you will be working across the College’s research and information service, museum and archives, and information governance functions, including records management.
You will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of Library collections as well as in the management of electronic resources and records on the Heritage and Library Management System. You will also act as the first point of contact for the department, responding to enquiries and problems from staff, members and the public via email, telephone and in person.
You will be joining the organisation at an exciting time as the College’s Head Quarters in Union Street is a growing hub of organisations focusing on the health of women and girls – e.g. the RCM and Faculty of Sexual & Reproductive Healthcare (FSRH); and we are about to embark on an ambitious Digitisation Programme.
