Position Overview & Specifications

Building a sustainable tomorrow

We are seeking a Document Controller to join us on a major project at Devonport, Plymouth where we are the preferred contractor to carry out heavy civil engineering construction in and around the Navy dockyard. The key applicant will be working alongside the project and delivery teams to help the transfer of data. Due to the nature of work at Devonport, there will be a high level of security checking in place which means we can only consider candidates that have a passport from a NATO member country. We do support hybrid working, however weekly site visits will be required.

Your mission

The Document Controller shall support the Senior Document Controller by:

  • Maintaining the CDE environment (ProjectWise)
  • Maintaining the project collaboration tool administration area
  • Assisting the project team to ensure accurate distribution of information, management of comments
  • and approval cycle and ensure project deadlines are met
  • Carrying out QA checks on all published information/documentation in accordance with project
  • document control procedure
  • Resolving drawing/document issue queries
  • Receiving/checking/distribution of documents in accordance with project procedures/distribution
  • matrix
  • Providing project related help and support to all project users, internal and external
  • Agreeing reporting frequency and production of reports
  • Administration support
Who are we looking for?

Essential:

  • In depth knowledge and use of CDE tool ProjectWise
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Clear and efficient numbering and labelling skills
  • Typing accuracy and efficiency
  • Attention to detail to ensure documents are accurate and made to specifications
  • Filing and organisation skills for document storage


Desirable:

  • Experienced doc controller of 5+ years
  • Working Knowledge of ISO 19650
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change
