Museum Assistants are a front facing role whose duties include delivering the daily program, engaging with visitors throughout the museum, as well as operating the museum gift shop.

We are recruiting x3 seasonal Museum Assistants to work at Fort Nelson on a fixed term basis until 29th October 2023.

Applicants will thrive on delivering consistently excellent customer service. They will be energetic, enthusiastic and will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude. As well as being a team player, applicants should be flexible and self-motivating with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Applicants must have previous experience of delivering tours or similar, and be able to respond to visitor enquiries. An interest in the Fort and National Collection of Artillery is desirable.

Any successful applicant will receive a full induction and training will be provided for all aspects of the role.

This post works 36 hrs per week, 5 days out of 7 on a rota basis.

Weekend, evening and bank holiday working will be required.

This is a fixed term seasonal position working from Monday 3rd April 2023 – Sunday 29th October 2023 exclusively.
