Position Overview & Specifications

The Company

Reco Medical is a spinout company from Imperial College London by an experienced team in wireless sensing. We develop, manufacture and commercialise a cutting-edge, wireless, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring system. Using groundbreaking technology, Reco Medical’s system will dramatically change how ICP is managed, reducing healthcare costs and improving outcomes. The company has received multiple highly competitive Innovate UK awards.

We are seeking a collaborative and versatile Biomedical/Electronic/Mechanical Engineer who will be responsible for sensor and system assembling, testing and documentation. The qualified candidate will be a hands-on technical contributor, working alongside experts in medical device engineering, manufacturing, and requires quality discipline to develop innovative medical devices.

The work will take place in our office at Harefield Hospital UB9 6JH. We seek to fill this position as quickly as possible.

The opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete design drawings and create prototypes to progress through its design and development stages.
  • Assist the completion of new and existing product design verification.
  • Perform test procedures to verify and validate product quality and efficacy.
  • Document all developments and tests according to company document control processes and procedures.
  • Comply with appropriate regulatory agencies and associated quality systems.
  • Communicate and manage strategic vendors and suppliers.
  • Follow the company’s Health and Safety Policies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams.

Required Experience:

  • Proficient with project planning; ability to effectively manage product development process with vendors and suppliers through the production phase.
  • Highly proficient in using SolidWorks to establish and evaluate design concepts as well as inspecting, assembling, and testing components and assembling them to evaluate design concepts.
  • Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and their capabilities, and quality control practices.
  • Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required with strong interpersonal skills and collaborative instincts: must be able to write clear reports, specifications, proposals, etc., and effectively discuss them with others.
  • Must be a self-starter and a fast learner.
  • Work efficiently both independently and within a team.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience in ISO/FDA environment and the understanding of medical device regulations ISO 13485 preferred.
  • Experience with microfabrication.
  • Experience with biomedical engineering and clinical application.
  • Medical device development.
